It pushes the air downwards so of course you aren't able to control. It works like a hovercraft and can only fly a little bit off the floor or off your hand. It can go out of control if it's pushing the air at an angle, after that you should just turn it off. The battery doesn't last long but you aren't going to play with this for a long time either, so just plug it in when you're done with it. It's fun to play with, but for me it's more of a collectors item.
