Don't know if "H.S. DxD" & or "Testament Sister New Devil" were the 1st in that area but I believe 1 of them is the most dated I've seen & the same with "SAO", all that tries to make $ with the same plots but different characters are just crap (though "Log Horizon" seemed to have been good, or t least I can recall the name).

Thought To Love Ru was near an original but killed that by 6 years when I found "Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki" 1992 just last week (Mid Aug '18) & all but 1 of the MC's isn't or looks 10-14 or 15 as well as UFO Ultramaiden Valkyrie" (2002), But Really, Damned idiot arse writer's & producer's, flooding the youth of the world with ideas of being a hero-heroin while still in 7th-9th grade?
It's difficult enough to do what's needed as a young adult. So why keep flooding the market with perverted nerd hero wannabes that scream like a b!+@# & don't know what to do with the young girls you throw at them incessantly?
"Legend of the Galactic Hero's" new one is nice as well as it is Dubbed decently, just hope they pull off all the 165 episodes without taking 13 years again.

Just Not to Sure, & same with "DanMachi" but with that last, by LN 8, 9 or 10 it becomes a 4-7 yr old child's fantasy BS. If the writer had stuck with only couple of creatures gaining intelligence like Dragon's are obvious as they have been speaking in over 65% of the movies they are in (albeit, 1/2 the time is just telepathically) & maybe the Harpy race that he met. I believe it was Harpies that tried to draw in Odysseus & his crew. But for f×@#s sake, even the creatures with craniums no larger than a walnut?
