In the 70's it was okay to advertise cigarettes to kids. Although the intention behind Gold Lightan cartoon was not sinister, it sure made kids want a reason for carrying those shiny gold lighters. The show did not take itself seriously, as GL would morph from a hand-sized robot to one that is as tall as buildings. In between battles, it would help the main character do his homework. The reissue SOC is perhaps the 4th or 5th version of this mold, but this time, plated in beautiful 24K gold. It's quite stunning and bling, and handling with gloves is highly recommended, unless you don't mind fingerprints.
