I have yet to attempt building it myself, but this seems to be a pretty good kit for beginners as the pieces are already colored so it would still look good even if you don't want to paint it. It can still be a bit tricky to figure out though if you've never done it before, so looking up an online tutorial may be necessary to get the best results, as the instructions are all in Japanese. Beginners may also wish to be warned that additional tools, such as clippers and sandpaper are also necessary.
