Better than most otome visual fanbooks?

From my experiences buying older B's LOG COLLECTION visual fanbooks, this definitely had thicker paper and had a more visually-appealing layout for all the pages. While I did like that this book in particular had more art content and hybridized itself as both an artbook and a fanbook by including the background art and sequential story CG's, I was disappointed a bit that this visual fanbook didn't have character design sketches. Well, at least unlike Broccoli fanbooks, the visual fanbook for Collar x Malice didn't skimp out on the CGs (kissing CG's are also printed larger than the sequential CGs leading up to them, haha <3333). Compared to older fanbooks, this has...Read moreClose

I've been collecting Hifumi Shobo artbooks since 2009, and this is one of the most beautiful, well-designed and had the most plentiful art collection than most Otomate game artbooks. You get the promotional art, character sprites, CGs and even the background art and design sketches--most artbooks don't have the last two for their official art collection. I'm glad that Hifumi Shobo did Yuukyuu no Tierblade a favor and gave us all the stunning artwork in one artbook instead of having to spend unnecessary money on a "visual fanbook" AND the "official artbook" later. Honestly-speaking, this was well worth every hard-earned penny.

I think this is a very beautiful, comprehensive collection of the Clock Zero game CGs and illustrations. Like most Otomate artbooks, this is another artbook of great quality--the layout for each page is clear, the CGs for each route are displayed at large sizes (unlike Broccoli, who shrink the kiss CGs), and the content itself makes any Clock Zero and/or otoge fan content. I hope that TOM imports and/of makes to order more of these type of books in the future, particularly the Code Realize artbook, which has long been out of print since last year.

This is a great reference for limbs, and is more comprehensive than most couple reference books. However, the art styles didn't really connect with me. I was hoping that the hands would be more beautifully drawn, like Tatana Kana or a similar artist would draw, but the fingers indeed matched up to the "yaoi hands" name. But other than that, I think that the multiple poses are excellent references for artists struggling with how couples intertwine and naturally pose their hands and legs. Just beware oft the anatomical accuracy, and concurrently practice drawing the real stuff :)
