As the biggest anime song event in Japan, Animelo Summer Live has become a summer tradition. The event, which started in 2005 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, is approaching its 10th production in 2014.

“Anisama,” as it’s lovingly called, is beloved for bridging music artists and fans. It has also gained popularity by crossing barriers and bringing together numerous anime music artists from different labels. Last year in 2013, Anisama was held for three days for the first time in its history at the Saitama Super Arena. Over the three days, 81,000 people attended, marking its largest audience numbers to date.

This year’s Anime Summer Live will also take place at the Saitama Super Arena. Keeping with last year, it will be held for three days, from Aug. 29-31.

Each day, 27,000 people can attend, so the possibility of breaking yet another record is high. The stage is being set for an anime song event of unprecedented scale.

The theme of this year has also been set. That theme is “Oneness.” Behind this theme is the idea of “bringing together all anime and anime songs as one.” It’s a return to the foundation of anime songs, which easily transcend national, racial, and other barriers, that directly shows the power anime songs have. Because of this, it aims to create a brand new wave.

Though the event is nearly half a year away, advance ticket sales will begin as early as April 1. This annual big summer event is already on its way.

The earliest ticket purchases can be made by members of any of the Animelo mobile music sites. Registration will also open for the new site AnimeloLIVE! on April 1. This site features a new concept that gives access to unlimited anime music. It’s something that is sure to get the attention of anime fans.
