  I had this image of a character––I wanted to draw a girl with red horns that have vibrant watercolor gradation on a red base––and I combined that with a Halloween theme, the actual seasonal event, and created this illustration.

  Personally, I like this piece because I managed to express the character just like in my imagination, and also because I feel I managed to capture a balance and it didn’t become too soft from the light coloring.

  Mourning - Gardenias for the Dead

  I put a little of the feelings you experience during mourning. Only a little bit… Whether she is a cat who is grieving over the loss of her owner or she is the ominous God of Death who predicts the death of people, people have various interpretations, and I think that’s perfectly fine. Since I like illustrations with a somewhat dark atmosphere to begin with, this is one of my favorites.

  I drew this piece to use as a cover for my iPhone. Since it’s for an iPhone, I themed it around phone calls. I like its antique and analog presence. I like calm colors, so I used them as base then did the coloring. I aimed for a portable design.

  Goat Mail

  Although I theme many of my works around fairy tales or nursery rhymes, I drew this particular one with "Goat Mail" in mind. I like this drawing because I managed to capture the character’s image and the coloring, and also because I succeeded in smoothly planting the motifs.
