Written by Soichiro Yamamoto, the ongoing series Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san began as a Japanese manga series published in Shogakukan’s manga magazine supplement “Monthly Shonen Sunday Mini” and was later moved into Monthly Shonen Sunday in July 2016. As of February 2018, six volumes have been published. The series has been licensed in English by Yen Press.

An anime adaptation directed by Hiroaki Akagi (Hina Logic - from Luck & Logic) with animation by Shin-Ei Animation began airing in Japan on Jan. 8, 2018. The anime features a script written by Michiko Yokote and characters designed by Aya Takano. It will run for 12 episodes. The opening theme is “Iwanai kedo ne” by Yuiko Ohara and the ending theme is “Kimagure Romantic” by Rie Takahashi. The series is available to stream internationally on Crunchyroll, with Funimation streaming the English dub.
