Synopsis
“I want to sing more, by your side.”
One day, Ritsuka meets Mafuyu who is holding a broken guitar. Ritsuka fixes the guitar for him and Mafuyu couldn’t be happier. In return, he has Mafuyu teach him how to play guitar, and his heart is struck when he happens to hears Mafuyu sing. He invites Mafuyu to join his band, and the distance between the two begins to lessen. However, Mafuyu is bad at showing his emotions, and he seems to be clinging to something in the past...
Background
Given is a Boys Love “youth band story” that began as a manga by Natsuki Kizu that is serialized in Shinshokan's Cheri+ magazine. As of April 2019, five tankobon volumes have been published.
An anime adaptation is set to premiere in Japan during Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in July 2019. It is being directed by Hikaru Yamaguchi with scripts by Yuniko Ayana and animation production by Lerche. The anime will be the first BL series to air on Noitamina.
Characters
Mafuyu Sato (Voiced by: Shougo Yano)
Mafuyu is a guitarist and vocalist with an impressive singing voice. After Ritsuka fixes his guitar for him, he is so happy that he hugs him. Something seems to have happened in the past that now causes him to not express his emotions well.
Ritsuka Uenoyama (Voiced by: Yuma Uchida)
A high school dropout with an innate talent for the guitar, Ritsuka used to be passionate about playing guitar but has since lost that passion when he happens upon Mafuyu. He becomes strongly attracted to Mafuyu after hearing him sing, and he begins to embrace his feelings toward him.
Haruki Nakayama (Voiced by: Masatomo Nakazawa)
A graduate student and the eldest member of the band, Haruki has a caring, brotherly vibe and is extremely personable.
Akihiko Kaji (Voiced by: Takuya Eguchi)
A college student, Akihiko can play drums, violin, guitar, and bass. He has a tough, intimidating exterior but is actually well liked.
