Synopsis

Though young, Kikuru Madan is a hunter with the most demon kills in the guild. Since childhood, he has trained morning and night to become a top hunter…so why has he decided to suddenly quit?! In order to reclaim his lost youth, he wants to retire as soon as possible and makes it his first priority to find and train his successor. However, when he goes on a quest with a useless rookie guard named Hitamu Kyan, it ends up being nothing but a string of immoral events! How will he reclaim his youth? Kikuru’s immoral rookie training is about to begin!

Background

Immoral Guild started as a manga series written and illustrated by Taichi Kawazoe that began serialization Square Enix's Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine in June 2017. As of September 2022, it has been published in 10 collected tankobon volumes. Square Enix is also publishing the series in English digitally through its Manga UP! service. The series has more than 1.2 million copies in print.

A TV anime adaptation was announced in March 2022. It is being produced by TNK and features Takuya Asaoka as director, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu handling series composition, Hiraku Kaneko handling character designs, Junji Goto who is credited as sub-character designer, monster designer, and chief animation director, and Ryo Shirasawa who is in charge of the music. The anime’s opening theme song is “Never the Fever!!” by Sayaka Sasaki, and the ending theme song is “Sugar Sugar Spice” by Minami Kuribayashi. The anime will premiere in Japan on Oct. 5, 2022 on AT-X, Tokyo MX, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV, and BS11, and will also broadcast on TV Aichi beginning the next day.

Characters

Kikuru Madan (Voiced by: Katsumi Fukuhara)
Kikuru is a hunter belonging to the guild in Mebuki. He is a young 20-year-old ace who is ranked first in most demons killed. However, due to wasting his youth training and working, he has zero experience interacting with women. He quits his job to train a successor in order to reclaim his lost youth.

Hitamu Kyan (Voiced by: Carin Isobe)
Hitamu is a rookie guard who is bright, cheerful, and full of spunk. However, her above-board personality causes her problems, and though a martial artist, she’s a klutz who loses even to slimes.

Maidena Angers (Voiced by: Ayano Shibuya)
Maidena is a devout Phoenizaskan. She is a genius white magic user who is one of the most talented magic users in history despite only being 15. Due to her intellect, she is highly prideful and impudent, but when it comes time to fight, she is a useless crybaby.

Toxico Dannar (Voiced by: Yo Taichi)
Toxico is a black magic user who excels at a variety of highly powerful ranged magic, including fire, ice, and lightning. However, she has zero motivation, zero stamina, slow reflexes, and her accuracy is also zero… She uses her magic indiscriminately, unleashing tremendous firepower against both friends and foes alike not knowing who or what she’ll hit.

Hanabata Nohkins (Voiced by: Yuna Kamakura)
Hanabata is a rookie soldier with high combat abilities. She is strong, noble, beautiful, tall, stylish, and to top it off is the heir to a large company. At first glance, she looks like the perfect girl, but that all changes when she activates her berserk mode and loses all ability to reason.

Noma Rune (Voiced by: Saho Shirasu)
Noma is a fairy and red magic user who is proficient in both offensive and healing magic. Though her abilities don’t stand out, she is cautious and has good, tactful judgment due to understanding her own weaknesses. Her slender, dainty appearance and gentle manner stimulate in others the desire to protect her.

Enome (Voiced by: Rumi Okubo)
Enome works at the guild in Mebuki. She is a good advisor to the guards and is both an older sister type and a motherly type. She is kind, tolerant, and has a strikingly nice body. She introduces Kikuru, who laments his lack of encounters, to the rookie guard Hitamu.

Eshune (Voiced by: Yuyu Shoji)
Eshune is Enome’s 11-year-old daughter. She is a reliable girl who helps out at the guild. She has a good sense of style for such a young age and a strangely rich vocabulary. She is planning to get Enome together with Kikuru instead of her father, who is always unfaithful.
