The Kickstarter campaign for the original animation Chuya-Den: The Day and Night Chronicles hit the $20,000 mark on Oct. 26 (EST). Backer numbers quickly exceeded 100 people.
The strongest supporter in the universe seems to have been put in charge of this project which is amassing such solid support! That’s right, Japanese comedian BANBANBAN who is the Frieza of the Japanese comedy world. So we’ll get right down to introducing you to some of the inaugural comments from these two:
Frieza: Kyeiii!!!!!
Sameshima: “I think it’s a great honor to be able to support director Yoshiyuki Kaneko as his Supporter-in-Chief and help him to make a fantastic animation. I say that my full power is 530,000, but really that’s quite poor. Please allow me support you with all my heart. Let’s all crowd around the anime and cheer together when it’s finished” - that’s what Frieza was saying.
The project, which has already quickly surpassed 20% of its target amount, is looking for the remaining 80% it needs for completion via Kickstarter. From the perspective of Chuya-Den which has already cleared that hurdle, what better way to put some wind in their sails than by appointing the strongest cheerleader in the universe.
Photographs of the cards featuring the real signatures of the A-list voice cast who are expected to star in the animation have also been unveiled. The cards which feature an all-new illustration plus the signatures of Yui Horie or Yu Kobayashi are set as a reward for backers at the $500 level. Each of the signed illustrations is limited to three pieces only, available to backers on a first-come, first-served basis, so if you’re a fan you’re going to want to check that out right away!
It’s rumoured that new limited edition rewards will be announced in the near future. Don’t take your eyes of Chuya-Den now, attention-grabbing information is being announced rapid fire.
Chuya-Den Story
The story takes place on an Earth on which there are multiple weather forecasts - one for both day and night. Throughout the whole world, a strange weather phenomenon of more than 20-hour nights has continued for 20 days. The cause? A “Yokai Chanbara” in which day yokai and night yokai battle for control of the night and day. Shu, Yuna and Kenta must participate in the Yokai Chanbara to take back the daylight!
