“Bungo Stray Dogs” Teaser Visual Released Featuring Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, Ryunosuke Akutagawa

Brand new information has come to light surrounding the TV anime adaption of Bungo Stray Dogs which will be broadcast in 2016. First off, an anime teaser visual has been released plus images of the main characters in anime-style standing poses.

Atsushi Nakajima, Osamu Dazai, and Ryunosuke Akutagawa all appear in the Bungo Stray Dogs anime teaser visual. The titles of the authors’ most famous works appear in the background along with text from some of their novels, which is just right for this series inspired by the real literary masters themselves.

The protagonist, Atsushi Nakajima, is a young boy who comes to live in Yokohama after having been kicked out of an orphanage and being attacked by a man-eating tiger. Wandering aimlessly about town, he comes to the aid of Osamu Dazai and decides to help out Dazai’s group of superpowered detectives, the Armed Detective Company. The highlight of the series is seeing how this boy with no parents, no friends, and no self-confidence will develop as the story goes on.

Osamu Dazai, a suicide enthusiast in search of a place to die, has a detached, elusive personality. Ryunosuke Akutagawa, a member of the villainous Port Mafia, has a black overcoat coiling around his body and a stone-cold expression just like the Grim Reaper.

The TV anime visual features the three characters in standing poses and expectations are rising for the unusual series which features the three superhero authors.

A two-day Bungo Stray Dogs exhibition will also take place at Animate Girls Festival 2015 (AGF2015) in Ikebukuro on Nov. 7 and 8. The jacket for the original drama CD Yaya Hibon Naru Hibi which will be on sale in the venue, anime visual tapestry, and clear file set design have also all been unveiled. You can confirm all the details on the official website.

Bungo Stray Dogs is a manga serial currently published in Young Ace (Kadokawa). Takuya Igarashi will direct the anime adaptation, Yoji Enokido will write the script and Bones will handle the animation production. The same team which handled Ouran High School Host Club will be tackling the Bungo Stray Dogs anime.
