“Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen” World, OP & Cast Finally Revealed

New information for the TV anime Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen to begin broadcasting this October has been released all at once. The official site has also opened, and with less than two months left until the broadcast begins, anticipation is rising.

The world of the anime has been revealed visually through a key visual and character artwork, and the second teaser has been posted. The key visual shows main character Haku surrounded by the main female characters.

The new teaser is one that is full of highlights. In addition to battle scenes and narration, each character’s voice can be heard along with the opening theme “Fuantei na Kamisama” by Suara, allowing viewers to really soak in the atmosphere of the series.

In addition to this, additional cast members and characters have been posted. Atui, a master of the spear whose pet Kurarin sits atop her head, is being voiced by Yumi Hara; Nosuri, the head of a band of chivalrous thieves, is being voiced by Nozomi Yamamoto; Ougi, Nosuri’s younger brother and assistant, is being voiced by Takahiro Sakurai; and Uruuru and Saraana are both being voiced by Ayane Sakura.

They join previously announced cast members including Keiji Fujiwara as main character Haku who has lost his memory, Risa Taneda as Kuon, a doctor who saves Haku, Kentaro Tone as the chivalrous Ukon, Minori Minase as Nekone, Ukon’s younger sister who is a childish prodigy, and Ai Kakuma as Rurutie, who raises a Hororon bird named Kokopo.

Utawarerumono is a historical military game released in 2002 by Aquaplus which was adapted into a TV anime in April 2006. After that, OVAs were released in 2009 and 2010. The series is a hit with explosive popularity also thanks to the web radio show Utawarerumono Radio hosted by Rikiya Koyama, voice of main character Hakuoro, and Ryoka Yuzuki, voice of Eruru.

Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen is the first official sequel in the series in 13 years. The game will be released in Japan on Sept. 24. The large scale of the series can be felt too from the anime adaptation beginning in October, which has already been confirmed for two seasons. Itsuwari no Kamen is the second work in a planned trilogy, and the third is already in the works. Keep it here for more information to come.
