Poni Can Books anime adaptation round 1; Daiki Yamashita, Ari Ozawa join Lance N' Masques
Pony Canyon is a company that continues to bring to the world popular anime. Poni Can Books is the company’s publication label that handles light novels and the like.
Now, anime adaptations are already coming out of Poni Can Books. Part 1 is Lance N' Masques, and information has been revealed regarding the voice cast. The popular Daiki Yamashita, who voices Sakamichi Onoda in Yowamushi Pedal, has been confirmed to be voicing main character Yotaro Hanabusa. Additional popular voice stars on the cast include Ari Ozawa, Manami Numakura, and Suzuko Mimori.
Lance N' Masques began being published by Poni Can Books in December 2013. The series is authored by Hideaki Koyasu, illustrated by Shino, and edited by animation studio Studio Gokumi. Studio Gokumi is also producing the anime adaptation. Directing the anime is Kyohei Ishiguro of Your Lie in April fame. The series is set in the 21st century in a world where knights still exist, and knight battle action unfolds.
Daiki Yamashita will play Yotaro Hanabusa who fights as the mysterious Knight Lancer. A highlight of the anime will be how Yamashita, who has played main characters in so many series, will perform as the main character in this battle action anime.
Ari Ozawa of Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun is voicing the heroine of the anime, Makio Kidoin, Manami Numakura of the Idolmaster series is voicing Yotaro’s teacher, Yoriko Sudo, and Suzuko Mimori is voicing Alice Cleveland, a junior knight who serves Yotaro. Make sure not to miss information on more new cast members to be announced.
Series author Hideaki Koyasu will also be a guest at the Niconico Live event “Poni Can Zenbu!” to be held on March 6. Koyasu, who is also the series composer and writer of the anime, is planned to discuss the charms of the series. Volume 4 of the original light novel also went on sale March 3. It’s priced at ¥620 (plus tax).
