The Return of Shinya Kogami in Shinjuku - ‘Psycho-Pass’ Appears All Over Central Tokyo

The newest work in the Psycho-Pass series, Psycho Pass the Movie, will release in Japan countrywide on Jan. 9, 2015. In celebration of this, events that use Tokyo as their stage are being held. Various plans related to the series are popping up in Tokyo’s hotspots including Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, and Akihabara. The planning is just like the series in that it’s themed after crimes occurring in the city.

The first “incident” is “Psycho-Pass x Lumine Est/Lumine Man” which is running from Dec. 24, 2014 to Jan. 16, 2015 at Shinjuku Lumine Est and Shibuya Lumine Man. The eighth floor lounge of Shinjuku Lumine Est has been turned into the Psycho-Pass Lounge. Screenshots from the series focusing on Shinya Kogami, who makes a return in the movie, and scripts from throughout the series’ history are on display. Other participation-type events that use QR codes are also underway.

The second “incident” is “Psycho-Pass x Shinjuku Metro Promenade” which brings a Cybil System Zone to Shinjuku. This is an event themed after the world of the series. It will feature events at which fans can get a digital New Year’s card from Shinya Kogami and more. It will be held from Jan. 5-11, 2015 at the Tokyo Metro Marunouchi Line Shinjuku Station Metro Promenade.

The third “incident” is “Psycho-Pass x Ling Tosite Sigure.” This is a collaboration paddy wagon that will be in service between Shinjuku and Shibuya from Jan. 8-18. This a unique participation-based event in which those who ride the wagon and post a photo to Twitter will find out the Crime Coefficients of the members of Ling Tosite Sigure.

The fourth “incident” is “Psycho-Pass x Tower Records,” an exhibit that gives a deep look at Ginoza Nobuchika that will be held from Jan. 9-18 on the eighth floor of Tower Records Shibuya-ten. A talk show is planned for Jan. 10 that will star Nobuchika’s voice actor, Kenji Nojima. This as well will likely gain popularity.

The fifth “incident” will use Akihabara as its stage. “Psycho-Pass x Akihabara” will be a stamp rally held among joint businesses in Akihabara from Jan. 13 to Feb. 15.

These aren’t simple exhibits and adverts, they are events with plenty of interactive elements; events that fans can participate in. More details on each event can be found on the official site.
