The broadcast date and time for the TV anime Durarara!!x2 has been confirmed. The broadcast will begin on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 on six channels including Tokyo MX. The first broadcast will be at 23:30 on the following four channels: Tokyo MX, Gumna TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11. The broadcast will begin on MBS on the same day at 26:28 and on CBC on Jan. 14. With the simultaneous broadcast through satellite channel BS11 and terrestrial channels, the entire country will be able to enjoy the anime at the same time.
In sync with the announcement of the broadcast schedule, it has been confirmed that the first advance screening event for Durarara!!x2 Sho will be held in Ikebukuro, the setting of the series. The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 3 in Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro, and the first two episodes will be screened. Appearing on stage at the event will be Toshiyuki Toyonaga, voice of Mikado Ryugamine, and Hiro Shimono, voice of Aoba Kuronuma, a new character for the second season. The event will be held three times.
The TV anime Durarara!! was broadcast from January to June and picked up popularity for its Ikebukuro setting and wildly unexpected story. Currently published are all 13 volumes of the original novel Durarara!! by author Ryogo Narita and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda and two volumes of the sequel, Durarara!!SH*. Volume 3 will release on the same day as the start of the broadcast: Jan. 10.
It is anticipated that the TV anime Durarara!!x2 Sho will be divided up uniquely into three parts. The first part will begin on Jan. 10, with the second part beginning in July 2015 after a short break, and the third part beginning in January 2016 after yet another short break. It seems that for the next year beginning with New Year’s Ikebukuro will be soaked in the world of Durarara!!
