The TV anime Digimon Adventure created by Toei Animation (Headquarters: Nerima, Tokyo; CEO: Katsuhiro Takagi) and broadcast from 1999 is turning 15 this year. Because this is an anniversary year, various plans are being developed under the 15th Anniversary Project.
The first part of the project will be a special commemorative event for fans held on Aug. 1 in Odaiba, the setting of the show. The title of the event is “15th Anniversary Event 0801 in Odaiba - Today, the Adventure Evolves.”
On the day of the event, there will be a screening of the movie Digimon Adventure: Our War Game! and a special concert by Kōji Wada, singer of the popular theme song “Butter-Fly.” In addition to the not-to-be-missed stage shows, another highlight will be memorial news announced one after the next regarding what is to come for the 15th Anniversary Project. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, July 1.

[ Digimon Adventure Story]
The main characters, the DigiDestined, are children who are suddenly thrown into a strange world called the Digital World. The dramatic adventure depicts the Digimon they meet in the Digital World, the friendships they have with one another, and their own personal growth. It began broadcasting in March 1999 and in a flash became a huge hit with boys and girls all over Japan. Beginning with North America that same year in August, the series has gone on to be broadcast in over 60 countries and has global popularity. Though 15 years has passed, it is a popular anime loved by many all over the world even today.
A ticket present campaign is also being held on Bandai’s official shopping site! A campaign in which 16 people will be chosen to win tickets to the memorial event is ongoing now on Bandai’s official shopping site, Premium Bandai. Anyone can enter the campaign with a form included in Premium Bandai’s membership magazine, Premium Bandai News.
