In celebration of the release of Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent on Feb. 1, an exhibit of the movie was held in the gallery at Nakano Broadway.
Speaking of Berserk, Guts’ sword, Dragon Slayer, is an especially impressive weapon, and a full scale replica was on display at the exhibit. When seen firsthand, the size of the sword is quite surprising. Also on display were original pictures and storyboards from the movie. Aside from the items on display, various irresistible items for fans were also available for purchase including a limited wristwatch and a paper replica of Griffith’s sword.
The exhibit attracted a wide range of attendees, from kids to adults, and, coincidentally, the ratio of males to females was equivalent. The original manga for Berserk has sold more than 33 million copies worldwide, and it has a high popularity throughout the world with men and women of all ages.
This exhibit is also being held in Osaka for three weeks. The Osaka exhibit started on Feb. 15 and will run until Mar. 8. It is being held in the Umeda Burg 7 on the seventh floor of the E-ma building. Admission to the exhibit is free. A present campaign, which was a big hit in Nagano, is also being implemented at the Osaka exhibit. Those who purchase more than 3,000 yen worth of merchandise will receive a free original picture from the storyboard.
