Before the nationwide release of Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent in Japan on Feb. 1, a large scale event was held at the Shinjuku Wald 9 theater on Jan. 25. The event was an all-night screening of all three movies in the Berserk Golden Age Arc trilogy.
Making an appearance at the stage greeting was Hiroaki Iwanaga, the voice of Guts, Takahiro Sakurai, the voice of Griffith, Toa Yukinari, the voice of Casca, and Kenta Miyake, the voice of Zodd. To the excitement of the crowd, each actor took the stage saying their character’s famous lines.
Before the screening began, Yukinari said emotionally, “You will be able to experience this movie more than just seeing and hearing it. I think you will also sense it, such as the smell of the blood and the grass. I would like you to experience this movie with all of your senses.” These movies indeed jump through the screen and into reality for all who see them. Berserk Golden Age Arc III: Descent is now screening and has received rave reviews.
