"Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endyumion no Kiseki" to Be Released This Month!

As the commemorative work of the 20th anniversary of ASCII Media Works, the anime movie "Toaru Majutsu no Index: Endyumion no Kiseki" will open in cinemas all over Japan on Feb. 23, 2013. The movie is being directed by Hiroshi Nishikiori, who also directed the TV anime, with character designs by Yuichi Tanaka. The screenplay for the movie was written by Hiroyuki Yoshino of Accel World and Macross F fame.

The movie version will be based on the themes of "songs" and "miracles". The original author of the series, Kazuma Kamachi, has written more than 10 pieces of texts and scripts describing new settings in Academy City, as well as the magic side, characters, and scenes.

Furthermore, there will be many new characters in the movie. The heroine Meigo Alisa, who meets Kamijou Touma, is a Level 0 girl who befriends Index. She seems to be related to a certain mystery which triggered the war between magic and science. Aside from that, Shutaura Sequenzia, captain of the Kurokara Butai paramilitary unit, as well as Ladylee Tangleroad, the genius goth-loli president of the Orbit Portal Company that built the universe elevator　Endyumion, will also make appearances in the movie.

On Jan. 26, 2013, the third pre-sale for the movie tickets was held. As part of the special event, clear posters (A3 size) with printed autographs of the cast were given out. Like the first two pre-sales, these gifts were limited edition premium items.

Dengeki Gekijou Bunkou is giving out 103 thousand copies of the novel Toaru Majutsu no Index - Road to Endyumion to moviegoers, while stocks last.
