Broadcast information has been announced for Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge, which made big news with the previous announcement of its anime adaptation. The broadcast will premiere in April 2016 on Tokyo MX, MBS, and other networks.
A portion of the staff was also revealed this time. Silver Link, the studio behind Non Non Biyori and Girl Friend Beta, is handling production. Directing is Shinya Kawatsura, who also worked on Non Non Biyori. And the series composer is Akemi Omode, who was also series composer of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Masters and Tales of the Abyss. Furthermore, likely to become a hot topic is the fact that Haruko Iizuka is character designer. Iizuka is well known for her adorable character designs that can be seen in School-Live! and Little Busters, among others, so fans will no doubt be interested in finding out what kind of characters will appear in the anime.
There is also a project being planned that seems unique to the series: weekly advance screenings. The latest episode to air will be shown in advance at Cine Libre in Ikebukuro, Tokyo. The events will also have a premium feel with exclusive bonus items planned for attendees. This experimental trial will offer a new way to enjoy the TV anime. Further details including a schedule and ticketing information will be announced in the coming days. It seems excitement will be building from here on until the broadcast in April.
Tanaka-kun wa Itsumo Kedaruge is a popular manga by Nozomi Uda that began serialization in Square Enix’s Gangan Online in July 2013. Volumes 1-5 have been published, with total sales for the series topping 1 million copies.
A teaser promotional video is also available on the official site. Its unique visuals give viewers a chance to freely enjoy the listless Tanaka, making it a must see.
