Shorty after the release of the Wii U version of Monster Hunter 3 (Tri) G HD Ver. on Dec. 8, 2012, the downloadable (DL) version was released on Dec. 27. The disc version of the game costs 4,800 yen and the DL version costs 4,300 yen (both prices include tax).
For those interested in the DL version of the game, note that you will need at least 6.2 GB of free space on your Wii U. For those with a basic Wii U, free disk space will most likely drop below 6.2 GB when you connect to the internet for the first time, so in this situation, external storage will be required before you can download the game. Take a look at Nintendo’s official site for external storage solutions for the Wii U.
The DL version is exactly the same as the disk version, so it is great for players who want to play the game but don’t want to have to bother with a disc.
