Devil Survivor 2 the Animation, an adaptation of the popular Nintendo DS game from Atlas, has begun broadcasting.
The game Devil Survivor 2 is a derivative title of the Megami Tensei series, which is Atlas’ signature work. It was released in 2009. Devil Survivor 2 the Animation marks the first anime adaptation for the series.
The character drafts for the anime were created by famous manga artist and illustrator Suzuhito Yasuda, whose work includes the popular manga Yozakura Quartet and the light novel Durarara!!. The anime is being directed by Seiji Kishi, who is known for also directed Angel Beats! and Persona 4 the Animation. The series composer and scriptwriter is Makoto Uezu, whose work includes Jinrui wa Suitaishimashita and School Days.
On March 2, an advance screening of the anime was held at Cinemart Shinjuku in Tokyo. Appearing at the screening were Kishi, Okamoto, and members of the voice cast who had a discussion and showed a special video. Another discussion with the staff was held on April 3 at Shinjuku Loft Plus One.
