Screenings of Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border:2 Ghost Whispers began in Japan on Nov. 30. Recently, an intensity-filled new PV was released ahead of general sales of the Blu-ray and DVD of the film. Also, an event called Cast Night at which the wonderful voice cast will make appearances was also revealed. This event will take place at Shinjuku Wald 9 on Dec. 12.
The new PV gives a condensed look at one of the film’s highlights, its action. Familiar characters like Motoko Kusanagi and Batou, the man with the sleepless eye, can be seen in the PV. New characters Captain Soga and Vivi also make appearances, and viewers can catch a glimpse of the film’s new story. Enjoy savoring the film’s dynamic scenes to your heart’s content with this roughly 2-minute PV.
A Cast Night was also held for the previous film, and it received a positive reaction from fans. The cast members who will be participating this time are Kenichirō Matsuda (Batou), Takurō Nakakuni (Saito), and Yōji Ueda (Paz). In addition to a talk segment, the event will also feature a raffle to give away goods signed by members of the cast including Maaya Sakamoto, the voice of Kusanagi. Advance tickets are currently being sold on the online ticket purchasing system Kinezo.
General sales for the film’s Blu-ray and DVD will begin on Dec. 25. Included with the film will be a special booklet that features a story synopsis and new interviews, as well as 30 minutes of bonus footage so fans can further enjoy the world of Ghost in the Shell: Arise. The jacket art will be a specially drawn illustration by director and character designer Kazuchika Kise. The cost of the Blu-ray is ￥7,140 and the DVD is ￥6,090 (both prices include tax).
Part 3 of the Ghost in the Shell: Arise tetralogy, Ghost in the Shell: Arise - Border:3 Ghost Tears, will release in theaters in Japan on June 28 of next year. Don’t take your eyes off this series from here on.
