Popular mecha anime Code Geass' franchise's first smartphone game is set to launch this August!
Titled Code Geass: Genesic Re;CODE, the game is an RPG featuring an original story of revenge. Players will be able to meet fan favorite characters like Lelouch, Akito, Renya, Orpheus, and Oldrin, as well as brand new characters.
The original anime's staff is set to return for the project, with co-creators Goro Taniguchi and Ichiro Okouchi to direct. Sunrise will handle planning and production, while CLAMP is credited with original character designs.
Beginning in 2006 with a TV anime series by Sunrise, Code Geass takes place in an alternate timeline in which the world is ruled by three superpowers: the Holy Britannian Empire, the Chinese Federation, and the European Union. The story follows former Britannian prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who is banished to Japan with his sister Nunally and vows revenge against his nation.
Code Geass: Genesic Re;CODE is set for an August 2021 release.
