Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun to Receive First TV Anime!

The soccer club comedy Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun, a fairly new series currently being serialized in Shueisha’s Monthly Young Jump, is slated to receive its first TV anime!

For those who aren’t yet familiar with the increasingly popular series, it follows the life of unnervingly handsome soccer prodigy Aoyama who has a peculiar and, unfortunately, obsessive love of cleanliness. How does a cleanliness-obsessed guy even play soccer? Heading and tackling are automatically off limits for him - the rest can be solved by wearing gloves in-game!

As you can imagine, cleanliness and soccer don’t necessarily go hand in hand, and readers see time and time again these two factors butt heads and interfere with Aoyama’s life.

Keppeki Danshi! Aoyama-kun was first serialized in 2014 and transferred to be serialized in Monthly Young Jump in 2015. In fact, in the Monthly Young Jump No. 10 issue that released Feb. 2, the series even had an opening-cover spread! There are currently 6 volumes out, with the 7th releasing on Feb. 17.

Author Sakamoto Taku originally had this work debut in the Tokiwa-So Project, a support group which can put its name to successful works such as the Kumo-man movie, which released Feb. 4.

Broadcast times, broadcasting networks, and cast are currently unknown, but the series has finally set up official Twitter and Instagram accounts. Be sure to follow so you’re the first to know new information released!
