Having begun airing in Jul. 2016, the Days anime has already come to an end. This series followed Seiseki as they fight their way through the Tokyo Preliminary Finals to compete in nationals, winning against Keio Kawahara and nearing the finals.
If you’ve been wanting to see more of the Seiseki Soccer Team, now you can as their battle against Toin Academy has received an anime adaptation! A new visual has also been released in commemoration of this happy news.
Days began its serialization in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2013 as a classic high school soccer manga. Volumes 1 through 19 have been released, with a whopping 3.5 million copies printed. Days is centred around Tsukamoto Tsukushi, a young boy with no particular redeeming traits or special skills, yet concealing a deeply rooted passion. He then goes on to enter the soccer team of Seiseki High School, a prestigious high school in western Tokyo.
Viewers related strongly to Tsukushi and the other members as they cemented their bonds in the environment of their strict yet kind club. There's Kazama Jin, the isolated genius of soccer, Hisahito Mizuki, the extremely talented captain Kimishita Atsushi, the cool leader reigning over the attacking midfielder position, and the arrogant (and gigantic) forward, Ooshiba Kiichi.
For the upcoming anime, their competition in the finals is Toin Academy, the undisputed champions. As one of Tokyo’s top 3, Nakamura Yuichi will be playing the pillar of both the team’s offense and defense, Hoshina Takumi. Osaka Ryota will be playing Isurugi Atomu, the 1st year goalkeeper with immense talent including passing, shooting, and dribbling. Finally, Takeuchi Shunsuke will be playing defender Ura Shizuka, gifted with both strength and intelligence. As you can see, an incredible cast has been pulled together for the finals.
The excitement doesn’t end there, though! There will also be an event by the temporary title of ‘TV Anime Days Event: Seiseki High School Soccer Championship.’ It will be held on 1/14/2017, with members of the Seiseki soccer team expected to participate, including Yoshinaga Takuto, Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, Namakawa Daisuke, Ono Daisuke, Yoshino Hiroyuki, Yasumoto Hiroki, Shimono Hiro, Konishi Katsuyuki, Ishikawa Kaito, Okabe Suzune, Komatsu Shohei, and Terashima Junta.
Details haven’t been released, so we’ll have to wait and look forward to seeing when the match against Toin Academy will be set into motion!
