New information has been revealed for the 2016 fall season anime Natsume Yuujincho Go (Natsume's Book of Friends 5), which will start airing domestically from October 4th, 2016, returning after the 4th season ended four years ago. The opening theme song for the anime will be “Takarabako” by sasanomaly, and the ending theme song will be “Akanesasu” performed by Aimer.
sasanomaly, who debuted in 2014 under the name “Nekobooro”, is an artist said to use unique lyrical arrangement and electronic music to create eccentrically charming pieces. Having been a fan of the anime since the first season, he noted that his song “Takarabako” will be a song composed especially for the series Natsume Yuujincho.
Aimer, making her major debut in 2011, has been involved with many anime tie-ups, including Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress as well as Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]. By her own words, “the lyrics to the ending song ‘Akanesasu’ was composed while I was tearing up watching the relationships and interactions of Natsume and the Yokai”. Aimer is also a personal fan of the series, and looks forward mostly to more of Nyanko-sensei!
