Experience the World of Mameshiba at the Mameshiba Shop in Tokyo Station's Character Street!

Mameshiba, the mysterious creatures that aren't quite a bean but aren't quite a dog either, made their debut on a TV commercial in 2008. They're known for their phrase, "Hey, did you know?", which they follow up with all kinds of fascinating (and often unasked for) trivia! Whether you're interested in their intriguing info or not, their cuteness is undeniable, and there's one thing in particular they're dying to tell you!

If you head down to Character Street in Tokyo Station's Ichibangai shopping area between July 16 to 28, you can visit the Mameshiba Shop! The already adorable Mameshiba have had an upgrade, and the Mameshiba Shop is filled with limited edition products and items that aren't yet available anywhere else. There are also Mameshiba items that are sure to bring you good luck, like Daruma Mameshiba and Seven Gods of Fortune Mameshiba.

■ About Mameshiba
Mameshiba made their debut through a mysterious TV commercial in March 2008, and celebrated their 9th birthday this year. If you get a chance to check out a Mameshiba TV commercial, you'll see that these very unusual creatures aren't quite a bean but aren't quite a dog either, and they suddenly appear in front of people and share random bits of trivia! They may have started out as TV ad stars, but there are also Mameshiba plushies, household goods, candy, and more. They've also featured in advertisements for huge companies, and their many fans include both children and adults.

When Mameshiba reached their 5th birthday, a ban on collaborations was lifted, and since then you can see them popping up all over the place. Product awareness surveys have shown that 100% of 10 to 12 year olds recognise Mameshiba, and around 80% of the previous generation recognise Mameshiba too. The unique way that Mameshiba appear from nowhere and offer nuggets of surreal knowledge is trully fascinating.
