Trolley bags inspired by Sailor Moon are to be released. The bags will have a cute design that is also suitable for travelling themed around one of the Soldier Sailors. It’s also been announced that matching carry-on bags and passport cases will go on sale at the same time.
Sailor Moon is a manga serial which ran from 1992 to 1997 and became hugely popular not only in Japan but overseas too. The TV anime adaptation was also a hit, and from 2014 a new version began streaming online which will also receive a third season covering the “Death Busters” arc. This time Sailor Moon is collaborating with Super Groupies who already sell various other Sailor Moon and anime collaboration merchandise.
There are three products in the series: the trolley bag, the carry-on bag and the passport case, and there are six different designs. The bags each feature a cute design inspired by one of six Sailor Soldiers which each emphasize their particular color scheme including: Sailor Moon, Sailor Chibi Moon, Sailor Mercury, Sailor Mars, Sailor Jupiter, and Sailor Venus.
The ribbon charms on the front of the trolley bags are their unique special feature and the cute girlishness of the colouring is reflected in the bags through the ribbon motif as worn on the chest of the Soldier Sailors. You can also remove the ribbon motif from the front and use it as a bag charm.
The bag’s lining is pink and has a pattern of the Sailor Soldier’s Moon Stick and symbol. The zipper pull has “Sailor Moon” written on the charm alongside the Soldier Sailor’s name, and the charm itself also has a star-shaped, cute and girly design. The trolley bag is carry-on size and is easy to move around with four casters attached to the bottom. The trolley bag retails for 23,000 yen (excluding tax).
The carry-on bag which will be launched at the same time retails for 6,800 yen (tax excluded), and the passport case for 2,900 yen (excluding tax). The preorder period runs from Dec. 22, 2015 to Jan. 13, 2016 while supplies last. As it’s such a cute design there will doubtless be a lot of fans looking to complete the entire set!
