The Village Vanguard Online Store is selling three kinds of “Slippan” slippers that look just like bread. It seems like seeing them when you’re hungry...would be enough to make your stomach growl with hunger. You may find yourself impulsively trying to eat them.
The available versions are French bread, bread roll, and hot dog bun, with each being a faithful replica of the bread they’re themed on. Each costs 1,706 yen (tax included). Pre-orders are being taken now and they will ship out in late November. It seems these would make a particularly pleasing gift for those who love bread.
