The Schedule to World Cosplay Summit 2016 Has Already Been Set!

The event schedule for World Cosplay Summit 2016 has been determined. The event will be held in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture from July 30 to Aug. 7. A trailer has also been posted to YouTube, which summarizes the event from its beginning to the present.

World Cosplay Summit is a cosplay event that has been mainly held in Aichi Prefecture since 2003. Every year the event draws in crowds for its many goings on, including the World Cosplay Championship in which cosplayers from all over the world compete, a Red Carpet Parade held in the city, talk shows with guests, and more.

The official trailer to the 2016 event gives viewers a chance to look back at the event, from its first holding in 2003 to its 13th this year. Cosplayers from four countries participated in the first WCS, whereas this number grew to 26 for this year’s WCS. The scope of the event has increased with each passing year, and because of this the 2016 event will no doubt draw tons of attention.

Part of the video is dedicated to the winners of the 2015 World Cosplay Championship, the Mexico team who cosplayed The Legend of Zelda. Many other cosplayers dressed up as anime and game characters from Sailor Moon, Pokémon, Street Fighter and more can be seen as well. The trailer conveys the fun atmosphere of the event.

The logo to WCS 2016 has also been finalized. It is colored bright gold. The schedule of the many events to take place during WCS 2016 is currently being finalized as well. Once it is, it will be announced on the event’s official site and Twitter. It seems this cosplay event born in Nagoya will heat up next summer too.
