The third “cool bread photo collection” titled Pan 3 by Team Mikansei—a female production unit comprised of photographers, designers, and more—will hit shelves on Sunday, July 19.
The book is themed after the concept “from yen to bread” and features photos of a world in which bread is used as currency instead of the yen.
The book will first be sold in advance at an event commemorating the book’s release titled “Team Mikansei no Bachika de Baka Chin!” to be held at Batica in Ebisu on July 19. The book is also available on Team Mikansei’s online store as well as other stores.
A Photo Collection Filled with White Bread!
Team Mikansei is a four-member production unit consisting of Shiori Sato, Yurishii, Pikkapaisen, and Mitsuko London.
Books already published in this totally unique series are Pan, the first of the series which features interviews with bread, and Pan 2 which features on the front cover model Hirari Ikeda and beatmaker Seiho.
In the book being published this time, Pan 3, the group tries to grasp a parallel world where bread is circulated as currency in all kinds of situations, from everyday scenes like in a convenience store or at a vending machine, to shady black market dealings.
The book is available for pre-order now until July 18 on Team Mikansei’s online store, and as a bonus pre-order copies will include a random photo signed by the members of the group.
Also, illustrator Hitoshi Odajima, artist Tonbo-sensei, embroiderer Kumi Kosuge, illustrator Yutanpo Shirane, and others will participate in a 1-day-only special exhibit to be held during the event “Team Mikansei no Bachika de Baka Chin!”
The event will also feature live performances, a DJ, a web radio show recording, and various food areas including the Cho-Juku Bar.
