Kensho Ono, Daisuke Namikawa join cast of Boruto; moviegoers to get bonus The Day Naruto Became a Hokage manga

Though fans felt a loss over the conclusion of Naruto, Boruto: Naruto the Movie, which depicts the next generation of the series, will be released Japan-wide on Friday, Aug. 7. The story extends the popular Naruto series, with the main character being Naruto’s son, Boruto. With plenty of new characters to make appearances, it’s a movie fans can hardly wait for.

Six cast members voicing the talked-about new characters have been revealed. They are Ryuichi Kijima as Mitsuki, Atsushi Abe as Inojin Yamanaka, Kensho Ono as Shikadai Nara, Saori Hayami as Himawari Uzumaki, Daisuke Namikawa as Momoshiki, and Hiroki Yasumoto as Kinshiki. From among them, it will be the first time Ono and Namikawa have performed in the Naruto series. With such a young, talented cast of actors, excitement for the movie will likely rise as well.

Moreover, a present for moviegoers has been announced: Naruto Hiden: Zai no Sho Official Movie Book. This booklet, limited to 2 million copies in Japan, includes a manga written just for the occasion by Masashi Kishimoto titled The Day Naruto Became a Hokage. This considerably pivotal chapter is an anecdote that hasn’t been revealed even in the original manga. Giving out such a manga as a bonus item without it being published in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump is a first in the history of Jump Comics. Also included in the booklet is a full color version of chapter 700, the finale to Naruto. This impressive free booklet is bound to become an eternal mainstay of any fan’s collection.
