Collaborative pumps based on the popular manga and anime Tokyo Ghoul have been introduced. SuperGroupies, which designs and sells fashion items inspired from anime and manga, is now selling two kinds of pumps themed after protagonist Ken Kaneki. One is modeled on the Anteiku cafe uniform worn by Kaneki and the other on an awakened Kaneki.
The Anteiku model is a heeled loafer. The front center of the shoe is decorated with a tie motif in the image of Kaneki and his Anteiku uniform. The body of the shoe is a coffee brown and the top part of the foot uses a black material. The pair also has an ankle strap that changes slightly in design from left to right and which features on the left shoe the image of Kaneki’s eyepatch.
The awakened model is also a heeled loafer but is themed after the completely transformed white-haired Kaneki. The shoes’ coloring also matches that of Kaneki’s ghoul mask and features red, white, and black. The top of the shoe is themed after Kaneki’s ghoul mask and includes a zipper aesthetic. This pair as well features an ankle strap that changes in design from left to right, with the right shoe featuring a decorative touch themed after Kaneki’s eyepatch.
Each pair costs 15,800 yen (plus tax). Because of their stylish designs, the shoes can be worn even with everyday outfits. Pre-orders began on May 15 and will be taken until June 7. The shoes will be delivered in mid-September.
Tokyo Ghoul is a manga by Sui Ishida currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump. The first part of the series was serialized from September 2011 to September 2014, and the second part began serialization in October 2014. Two anime adaptations have been created since 2014, and fans are very familiar with the series.
