Xuccess Heaven production announced; impressive staff and voice cast to create anime-like experience through smartphone game
On March 17, Bandai Namco Online and Sega Networks announced the birth of new original content developed jointly between these two massive game companies. A conference announcing production on Xuccess Heaven was held at Nicofarre in Roppongi, Tokyo, and an outline of the project was revealed.
Xuccess Heaven will primarily consist of a smartphone game, but the series will also be developed across various media with merchandise, publications, and more. Also attached to the project are several staff members active in anime projects and a wonderful voice cast that will likely be a highlight.
The stage for Xuccess Heaven is the “reborn capital of Tokyo” in a near futuristic version of Japan. There are five different academies in the city, all home to young students who possess supernatural abilities known as “Xuccess.” The students violently battle to be at the top, all with their own reasons for fighting including for victory, fame, themselves, and their friends.
Naotake Furusato, series producer of My Hime and project producer of Cross Ange: Rondo of Angels and Dragons, is credited with the project’s planning and original concept. Appointed as character designers are Hirokazu Hisayuki, Yohei Sasaki, Sho Matsui, and Hisashi Hirai. Their splendor comes through in their respective works, which include My-Hime, Phi Brain: Puzzle of God, Code Geass, and Mobile Suit Gundam Seed. Hirokazu Hisayuki is also credited as animation director.
Due to the many staff members from anime on the project, the game’s animations are one of its selling points. For the first time, a large amount of premium animation clips have been produced for a smartphone game. There are over 20 in total.
The game also has a wonderful voice cast. Up until now, seven popular voice actors had been announced on the official teaser site, but this time over 20 were announced, including Tomokazu Sugita, Miyuki Sawashiro, and Aya Endo. Each character is main character quality, and we’ve been told there will even be over 150.
However, even the announcement this time is still limited. Additional information is expected to be revealed during Nico Nico Cho Kaigi 2015 on April 25 and 26. There will be a Xuccess Heaven booth at the event. Stay tuned to find out what will be announced.
