Dragon Ball Z: Fukkatsu no F will be released in Japan on April 18. The film is a completely new story in the nationally popular anime series Dragon Ball. There are likely many fans who can’t wait for the spring release. In the same way, there are likely many who still remember the previous film in the series, Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods. This 2013 film was the first new theatrical anime in the series in 17 years and was a huge hit grossing roughly 3 billion yen in box office revenue.
A special event at which to enjoy Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods on the big screen once more will be held on Feb. 21 at Shibuya Toei 1 in Tokyo. Moreover, Masako Nozawa, the voice of Goku and Gohan, and Ryusei Nakao, the voice of Frieza, will be onstage for some intense dialogue just like in the film. Risa Yoshiki, who is a diehard Dragon Ball fan, will also join them onstage as a special guest. We’ve gotten wind that the esteemed Goku will be in a huge pinch and Risa will unleash her rage on the Emperor Frieza! Just what will go down at the event? This is one you can’t miss.
The event is being held to match with the release of the Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods special edition DVD and Blu-ray on March 13. The special edition begins with a “narrated digest video that covers from Goku meeting Bulma to the Buu Saga,” and includes 55 cuts from the film and roughly 20 minutes of bonus scenes. It’s an edition fans will find irresistible.
In celebration of the release of the Blu-ray and DVD, an encore screening of Battle of Gods has been confirmed, and the event will even feature a wonderful stage performance before the screening.
