It has been confirmed that Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, the royal road of robot anime, is joining the well-known Super Robot Wars series that stars characters and mecha from robot anime. The newest installment in the series, releasing on April 2, 2015, Super Robot Wars ZIII Tengoku-hen will star as its main characters Ledo and the mecha he pilots, Chopper.
The newest PV has already been released, and in it you can see both characters. The second part of the OVA, the newest installment in the anime series, will be screened at an event to begin on April 4, 2015, meaning that fans will be able to enjoy Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet at the event and in the game to release at almost the same time.
Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet is a robot anime TV series that broadcast to high acclaim in the summer of 2013. Set on a future Earth almost entirely covered by water, the story is packed with action and adventure mainly focusing on main character Ledo who crash lands on the planet. Ledo is a robot pilot from a war that continues to rage in space.
The series gained great popularity after it began airing, and this popularity is tied to the newest OVA, Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet - Meguru Koro, Haruka. This sequel to the series will be released on Blu-ray on May 27 after the screening event on April 4.
There are many events planned for the year’s end and into next year as well. A marathon broadcast of all episodes of the TV series will occur on the video distribution site GyaO! from Dec. 20 at 12:00 p.m. to 22 at 11:59 p.m. (JST). There will also be a rebroadcast of the series on BS11 starting on Jan. 5 at 14:30 a.m. (JST).
In other news, Super Robot Wars ZIII Tengoku-hen is the conclusion to the Super Robot Wars Z series. Similar to the first game released, it will include characters from more than 10 series and will have the series’ largest scale yet in terms of volume. With its introduction to this popular series, it seems Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet will continue to be in the spotlight.
