Shonen Hollywood Season 2 Broadcast to Begin in January 2015

The TV anime Shonen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 49 came to its conclusion late-night on Sept. 27 with Episode 13, “We, Can Be Born Again for Eternity.” Production on Season 2 was announced shortly after the anime’s finale. The title is Shonen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 50 and it will begin broadcasting in January 2015.

Other than the fact that Season 2 Shonen Hollywood: Holly Stage for 50 will depict the five members of the matured Shonen Hollywood, nothing else is known. We wonder what kind of performances we’ll see this time from the familiar cast that includes Ryota Osaka as Kakeru Kazami, Tetsuya Kakihara as Ikuma Araki, Daiki Yamashita as Kira Saeki, Aoi Shota as Daiki Tomii, and Kensho Ono as Shun Maiyama. The main staff remains unchanged from Season 1, with Ikuyo Hashiguchi as the original author, series composer, and writer. Directing is Toshimasa Kuroyanagi and the character designer is Kei Tsuchiya. The animation is once again being produced by Zexcs.

The original work to the series is the novel Shonen Hollywood by Ikuyo Hashiguchi. Season 1 of the anime takes place 15 years after the events of the novel and depicts the dreams and growth of an idol unit called Shonen Hollywood who are active at the Hollywood Tokyo theater in Harajuku. The Season 1 Blu-ray and DVD will be released on Oct. 8. The price for each will be 6,000 JPY (tax not included).

Other than the anime, several projects are also in the works including an event for Zen the Hollywood, the official unit that performs the series’ music. Keep an eye on this series to find out what Season 2 has in store for fans.
