Today, Sept. 1, 2014, at the Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia press conference SCEJA Press Conference 2014, Nihon Falcom revealed that development is currently underway on a new installment in the action RPG series Ys to release on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The release is planned for 2015.

Today, Monday, Sept. 1, Nihon Falcom Corporation (CEO: Toshihiro Kondo) announces that development is underway on the newest game in its hugely popular action RPG series Ys which will be releasing exclusively on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2015.
■ About the New Ys
It has been three years since the release of the action RPG Ys: Memories of Celceta which released in 2012 as a PS Vita original title and was highly praised not only in Japan but also in Europe and North America. Now, an all-new game in the Ys series is coming exclusively to the PS4 and PS Vita next year!
Buried on the waves of legend, in a land long forgotten by humanity, a new story begins for adventurer Adol Christin!
Using the hardware capabilities of the PS4, the humongous world that adventurer Adol traverses is highly detailed and colored with an abundance of hues! A ton of new action and system components have been added to make the adventure even funner including a broader range of jumps and weapons and high speed battles that feel even more exhilarating! Please look forward to this newest game in the Ys series being eagerly developed as Nihon Falcom’s first PS4 title!
■ About Ys
Since the PC-exclusive game Ys was first released in 1987, it has been ported to a number of different platforms and introduced overseas in North America, Europe, and Asia as an action RPG. It is one of the representative works of Nihon Falcom along with their story RPG Kiseki.
The series is known for its speedy and exhilarating action that’s simple to control called “Ys Action,” a clear and dramatic story enjoyed by men and women of all ages, and its unique sounds. On Sept. 17, 2009, the PSP-exclusive game Ys Seven won the North American RPG Fan E3 2010 Award for Best RPG of the Year. The PS Vita exclusive Ys: Memories of Celceta won the Users’ Choice Award at the PlayStation Awards 2012 on Sept. 27. The series is highly regarded among a wide range of players all over the world.
