Anime Greenlit for Seraph of the End, Popular Manga Serialized in Jump SQ

The popular manga Seraph of the End serializing in Jump SQ (Shueisha) is becoming an anime. The first information regarding this was announced on the official Jump SQ site on Aug. 28.

The only thing known at the moment is that the anime has been greenlit. However, the work is drawing lots of attention, so it will be interesting to see how it develops from here.

Seraph of the End is the first original manga by Takaya Kagami whose representative works include The Legend of the Legendary Heroes and A Dark Rabbit Has Seven Lives. With illustrator Yamato Yamamoto and storyboard composer Daisuke Furuya at his side, the manga began serialization in 2012. It’s an ambitious work by these popular creators.

The work is set in an era in which humanity is on the verge of extinction due to an unknown virus. Adding to matters, a vampire threat that appears suddenly is exposed. Yuichiro Hyakuya, who has vowed revenge on the vampire who killed his family, joins the Japan Imperial Demon Army’s Vampire Extermination Corps, and throws himself into battle.

How will this work be adapted into an anime? Who is on the staff? And what about the voice cast playing the characters? Look forward to more information to come.
