Two works by the late sci-fi author Keikaku Itoh, who passed away at the age of 34 in 2009, are becoming animated films set for a 2015 release. Those two works are Genocidal Organ and Harmony. The films are the second part to Fuji TV’s anime project, Noitamina Movie, and the animated films are progressing under the name Project Itoh. Because it focuses on movie adaptations of works popular not just in Japan but worldwide, its development will be watched closely.
Now, information on a portion of this project has been revealed. A new PV for the works was released on Aug. 1. Up-and-coming illustrator redjuice provided new Genocidal Organ and Harmony illustrations for the PV. It is unclear whether or not redjuice is actually working on the anime, but because he was previously put in charge of character designs for the Noitamina anime Guilty Crown this is an area of speculation.
In addition to being shown in the PV, these illustrations will also be used as the front covers to the renewed versions of the light novels for Genocidal Organ and Harmony on sale from Hayakawa Shobo on Aug. 8. The visuals show U.S. Army Captain Clavis Shepard from Genocidal Organ and Toan Kirie from Harmony, respectively. In other news, the official Twitter account for Project Itoh launched on Aug. 1. There is still many unknowns about this project, but it’s not a stretch to say that this is one of the most interesting projects at the moment.
