The veil has finally been removed from the key visual to the anime movie Aikatsu! The Movie, which will release countrywide in Japan on Dec. 13. The released visual is full of Aikatsu!-like activity. The visual shows heroine Ichigo Hoshimiya jumping along with her best friends Aoi Kiriya and Ran Shibuki with large fireworks behind them. Also shown in the visual is Akari Ozora who, inspired by Ichigo, sets out on the road to become an idol. It seems the ball is already rolling on this unprecedented idol movie.
A highlight of the visual is their coordinated outfits. These will be seen in the movie. They are also the same outfits that are on the Aikatsu! cards to be given out as presents with advance tickets. Those who purchase advance tickets can use the cards in the Aikatsu! game.
The movie begins with Ichigo Hoshimiya, a working idol, being given the big chance to put on a special concert with her in the leading role. The title of the concert is “Great Ichigo Starmiya Festival.” The venue is the Star Rise Stadium where Ichigo saw top idol Mizuki Kanzaki perform live for the first time. If she is to succeed, Ichigo will likely need to become a genuine top idol.
Aoi Kiriya and Ran Shibuki lend all their support to help Ichigo. Also appearing in the movie will be Otome Arisugawa, Yurika Todo, Sakura Kitaoji, Kaede Ichinose, Shion Kamiya, and Akari Ozora. Fans will surely be delighted by the group performances that can only be seen in the movie.
The original work to Aikatsu! is a digital card game themed after idols and fashion. Players combine five types of cards and enjoy coordinating them and playing through auditions (rhythm games). A TV anime that ties in with the game also became popular after it began airing in October 2012 and it has gathered massive support from young elementary school girls and parents. The movie releasing in December will have an entirely original story played out by an all-star cast.
