The talked-about TV anime Bakumatsu Rock, which is based on a popular game, will begin this July. Set in a Bakumatsu period that differs slightly from the actual Bakumatsu period, Rockers, men who freely love rock, fight against the Shinsengumi, which is revered by the people, using music. Looking toward the anime’s broadcast, the title of the ending theme and artist responsible have been revealed. The title is “Zecchou Daybreak” by Ultra-Souls, a unit comprised of five of the Rockers who appear in the series.
Ultra-Souls is a unit of five rockers and their respective voice talents. The members are Ryoma Sakamoto (CV: Kisho Taniyama), Shinsaku Takasugi (CV: Tatsuhisa Suzuki), Kogoro Katsura (CV: Shotaro Morikubo), Toshizo Hijikata (CV: Toshiyuki Morikawa), and Soji Okita (CV: Kensho Ono). Each of the cast members voicing these characters possess both popularity and talent.
The group just picked up attention with their debut first single and theme song to the game Bakumatsu Rock, “What’s This?”, on April 23. “Zesshou Daybreak” is the group’s second single. The song is completely new and expresses the passion of Bakumatsu Rock.
The single will release on CD on Aug. 27. Also included is the coupling song “Goshoku Ryoran.” The first edition costs 1,200 yen (excluding tax) and comes with a three-sided sleeve case, enclosed stickers, and a gorgeous book. Ultra-Souls fans should definitely check it out.
It has also been decided that a screening event for the anime will be held. A screening event for the first episode will be held at Cinema Sunshine Ikebukuro on June 22 (Sun.). This is your chance to hear Ultra-Souls before anyone else.
The TV broadcast of the anime will begin on Tokyo MX on July 2 and continue on Sun TV, TV Aichi, BS11, and other networks. With less than a month until the broadcast, excitement will continue for Bakumatsu Rock.
