Ultra Kaiju as Girls! Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project Further Advances into the World!

The Japanese movie production company Tsuburaya has created many wonderful tokusatsu (special effects) films in the 50 years since its foundation in 1963. Everyone must have heard about the Ultraman series, one of the representative titles of the company. And that very same company has started on a world-shaking project, the Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project, in which the kaiju (monsters) from the Ultraman series are transformed into cute girls! And these adorable monster-girls are now starting to take over the world from Tokyo Otaku Mode!

The Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project was first published in Dengeki Hobby Magazine and Dengeki G’s Magazine in 2013, and it keeps vigorously announcing new works even now. The subject is quite adventurous, as it involves turning kaiju and aliens appearing in Tsuburaya Productions’ Ultraman series into girls. In February, the figure of a popular monster Eleking was released, and they are planning the further release of humanized figures of Red King and Zetton, monsters that any fan would know. Furthermore, the project also includes a collaboration with Miku Tanabe, a member of the representative Japanese idol group AKB48, under which they are developing TanaMiclas, a new character born from her unification with the capsule monster Miclas.

This time, Tokyo Otaku Mode is also carrying out a collaboration with the Ultra Kaiju Humanization Project. TOM’s Special Creators have splendidly adapted Ultraman kaiju into beautiful girls! This is the late birth of unique and cute girls who can well match the original monsters. There are six creators participating in the project––Akira Hashiribe, gi, Toro Octani, EKMkimu, nekonomimiko, and sousou––all of whom created unique characters that leverage their own style of drawing.

Now, let us show you how the original monsters have turned into beautiful girls using pictures for comparison.

Antler
His huge, characteristic jaws were rearranged an horns/antlers. She has a presence of languor reminiscent to underground ruins.

Lidorias
Lidorias, who was friendly to humans, became a bubbly, energetic girl. Her ridge-like part became a ponytail, giving her character a somewhat naughty feel.

Zamushar
The battle-maniac Zamushar who was looking for strong fighters became a girl wearing a helmet and armor.

Windam
An ally of Ultraseven hidden inside a capsule, this capsule monster was personified into a somewhat strange girl wearing cardboard. Does she have an electronic brain?

Gatanazoa
This evil god living in the depths of the oceans went through an image change into a cool girl with an intellectual presence. Even his sinister aspect, the characteristic spiral shell on his head which suggest his real form, turned out cute in this version.

Vakishim
A red face on a blueish body and a brave-looking horn! The strong supermonster Vakishim turned into a slightly annoyed looking young lady!

Moreover, the serialization of a comic drawn by Bakutendou as part of this project will begin in the July issue of Dengeki G’s Magazine. The comic will feature various previously personified monster-girls, and cute new personifications can be expected as well.
