On Oct. 12, a celebratory event was held for the release of collaborative cases and clear file folders of Tanamiclas, which was created as part of Tsuburaya Productions’ “Monster Personification Project.” At the event, held in AppBank Store Shinjuku, Miku Tanabe of the idol group AKB48 made an appearance dressed as Tanamiclas. The venue was heated up by Tanabe participating in a talk event, rock-paper-scissors tournament, and more.
Tanamiclas is a character created as a collaboration between Tanabe and the capsule monster Miclas 1 from Ultra Seven. The anime otaku Tanabe had a burning desire to collaborate with Tsuburaya Productions, and that collaboration was finally realized.
The event was divided into two parts: a talk event & rock-paper-scissors tournament and an autograph signing. A crowd of people gathered before the event started, and fans blew up when Tanamiclas appeared. Due to the impact, a photography session immediately broke out. The second part of the event was simulcast on Nico Nico Douga 2, and fans watching online commented.
The collaboration products are four types of cases for the iPhone 5s and clear file folders. Each design fully displays the cuteness of Tanamiclas. One of the iPhone cases features a red-lettered print with white as its base that was endorsed by Tanabe.
Dependent on how well these do, there may be even more new Tanamiclas products to come. Look forward to it!
