TOM Special Creators Are Even Participating! Original Service for Making Anime and Character Bromides Releases at Convenience Stores Across Japan

On May 29, the Japanese convenience store chain Family Mart released a new multi-copy service called Famima Print.

Family Mart is a huge convenience store chain in Japan with approximately 10,600 stores nationwide. In recent years, they have been routinely holding collaboration campaigns with a variety of anime, characters, and games, beginning with Hatsune Miku.

The newly released Famima Print service is one in which original bromides of anime, characters, games, comics, and doujinshi can be easily made using a multi-function copy machine (MX-3610DS).

Ten of the top creators in Japan who are also Special Creators active here on TOM are participating in this new service. Ten illustrations by these creators are available as two different sized original bromides. These illustrations include Coffee Kizoku’s “Glow in the Morning Sky,” an exquisite piece that shows a black-haired girl against a mysterious early morning sky; wingheart’s “Gravity Free,” which shows the radiant beauty of black hair submerged underwater; and kise’s “Cosmic Stroll,” which expresses the wonders of space through poppy use of color and a cute girl.

Also prepared for the lineup are 100 varieties of limited content (two sizes) from major Japanese doujin shop Toranoana and four character cards (two sizes) from popular game company Success who are known for developing the popular game app Osawari Tantei Nameko Saibai Kit. The number of sites offering these will likely increase from here on.

Using the copy machine is super simple. First, get the “print number” of the image you want to print on the exclusive site for the content. Then, choose “Famima Print” from “Content Print Service” on the printer (MX-3610DS) inside a Family Mart location and insert the print number of the image you want to print. You then pay the fee, choose how many pages you want, and printing begins. We’ve included the print numbers for the TOM Special Creator works below, so those who are interested should check them out and definitely give the service a try if you happen to be in Japan.
