There was recently a news flash regarding Buddha 2: Tezuka Osamu no Buddha - Owarinaki Tabi, an anime movie premiering on Feb. 8. It was announced that the worldwide premiere is to be held in the Louvre Museum in France.

Although there are examples of press conferences and screenings of older works being held at the Louvre in the past, this is the first time a premiere screening of a new work is to be held there. It is planned that the cast and staff will also be present on the premiere day. This piece of news is gathering attention not only in Japan, but overseas as well.

The screening of Buddha 2: Tezuka Osamu no Buddha - Owarinaki Tabi at the Louvre is being held in the same timing as the Osamu Tezuka Exhibition which will be held at a gallery in Paris beginning on Jan. 30. At the exhibit, 50 original artworks by Tezuka will be on display. The magnificent anime adaptations of Tezuka’s representative works add to the light of this gorgeous exhibition.

Buddha 2: Tezuka Osamu no Buddha - Owarinaki Tabi was made as the second part of the Buddha anime movie trilogy. It is one epic poem about the life and death of humans that the master of manga, Osamu Tezuka, took 10 years to draw. Just like the previous episode, battle action and natural spectacles were drawn using the most advanced technologies and expressive power in the world, with an intensity peculiar to anime.
The magnificent acting cast that includes Sayuri Yoshinaga, Kenichi Matsuyama, Yoko Maki, Kiyokazu Kanze (26th head of the Kanze style noh school), Hidetaka Yoshioka, Shin’ya Owada, Tetsuo (Waraimeshi), and Hiromasa Taguchi and the great voice acting cast that includes Nana Mizuki, Miyuki Sawashiro, Keiji Fujiwara, Ryuzaburo Otaro, and Sumi Shimamoto are also highlights of the film. Many actors blew life into the story, shaping the human drama and inner turmoil.
