Did your favorite character make the ranking?
Rankings by age and area for both male and female respondents can also been seen at the bottom of the article. The top characters among male respondents based on age group are Asuna for ages 14-19, Hinata from Naruto Shippuden for ages 20-24 and 25-29, and Nico Robin from One Piece for ages 30 and up. For females, the top characters based on age group are Levi from Attack on Titan for ages 14-19 and 20-24 and Ren Tsuruga from Skip Beat! for ages 25 and up. Even though Ren only ranked at No. 18 on the Overall Ranking, it seems he has captured the hearts of females 25 and up all over the world.
When looking at the results by area for male respondents (North America, South America, Europe, and Asia), it appears that there isn’t a huge amount of difference in the top characters. However, there is one result that was rather surprising. Ruri Gokō, who ranked at No. 9 in the Overall Ranking, came in at No. 1 in South America. This is all the more surprising considering that she didn’t even make ranking in any other area. Does this mean that men in South America have a fondness for black-haired girls?
Looking at the results for female respondents by area, the top characters in South America again look very different from that of other areas. For example, Levi, who was in the top three in every other area, only ranked at No. 4 in South America. Also, the most popular character among females in South America was Sebastian from Black Butler.
