“Kamiesai -Miyabi-,” an event that gathered the works of famous illustrators, was held at Ikebukuro Sunshine City for three days from Sept. 21 to 23.
Japan’s most well-known illustrators gathered together for this event, including Yoshitaka Amano, character designer of the Final Fantasy series; Kei, designer of Hatsune Miku; Tony, who is the character designer for Sega’s game series Shining; and Kantoku, who draws the illustrations for the light novel The “Hentai” Prince and the Stony Cat.
Moreover, besides enjoying the sights, attendees were able to also buy goods by their favorite illustrators on the spot. Seeing the rich lineup of A2-size clear posters and tapestries, T-shirts, and other goods, attendees had a hard time deciding which ones to pick… Some even ended up wanting them all!
On the 22nd, the second day of the event, a symposium with six illustrators––Mel Kishida, Kurehito Misaki, Coffee Kizoku, Kei, Kantoku, and Twinkle–– was held, adding more liveliness to the event.
This exhibit was also held in Osaka on Sept. 28 and 29. If you missed it this time, be sure to check it out next time!
